Mr. Smith, of Maryland, made the following report: The Committee on Finance, to which was referred the following resolution, offered by Mr. Benton; Resolved, that the Committee on Finance be instructed to inquire whether any error has occurred in the construction of the 4th section of the Act, entitled "An Act to Provide for the Redemption of the Public Debt..."
