Within my heart

Summary: Former midwife and new widow Rachel Boyd is struggling to keep the family ranch afloat and provide for her two young sons by herself. When shopkeeper and family friend Ben Mullins collapses in his store, Rachel races for the town s new doctor and finds herself acting as Dr. Rand Brookston s assistant while he tries to restart Ben s heart. While Rachel appreciates his help and admires his skill, she squelches any feelings she might have for Rand. Her own father was a doctor and his patients always took priority over his family. Rachel knows what kind of a life would be in store for her as the doctor s wife. She also knows only too well the pain of losing her husband, and she never wants to feel that despair again. Rachel must now make a difficult choice: she can close off her heart or risk all for a chance at the deepest of loves.
